What’s on: TED FEST, Feb 2016.
This festival on Aran Mór Island will either completely baffle you or make you want to up sticks and head for ‘Craggy Island” for a few days of completely off the wall madness!
The festival celebrates (if that is the right word!) the cult TV series Father Ted. And as anyone familiar with it will know that means madness, mayhem and total chaos are not just inevitable but desirable.
Planned events (though who knows what will actually happen) include Buckaroo and Movie Charades, a Jesuit Country & Western Hour, Priests v Nuns Beach Volleyball. Oh, and of course the annual Lovely Girls Competition!
Party the night away:
Tí Joe Watty’s – Bar Aran Islands
Tí Joe Watty’s is a welcoming local bar with good food, music & craic.
The bar is well placed in Kilronan Village, at the cross-roads to Dún Aengus and the Seal Colony. It has a lovely Beer Garden with wonderful trees which offer shade from the sun and from the wind and an open fire inside.
When you drink at Tí Joe Watty’s, you drink with the locals. Meet the people and enjoy the island, the music and the good food
Watty’s is famous for its live music sessions. Live Music Nightly: May – September. And at week-ends all year.
Bar Food Daily 12.30 – 21.00hrs
