St Patrick’s Day Hen Party
St Patrick’s Day Hen Party
For the week that’s in it, it’s only right that we give you the low down on having the greatest St Patrick’s Day Hen Party you can. One of the main reasons this is a fantastic day and time of the year to have your hen party is that everyone, in every Irish town and city in the country will be hell bent on ‘Out-Irishing’ each other. This means there will be an air of mischief and bedevilment that only a heap of drunk Irish people can create.
Pints of stout, beer and glasses of spirits will be flowing like our very own river Shannon that will see the party start early and well finish early the next day. Best to break out your best dancing shoes as you are in for a long one girls.
Drinking aside, this is also the centenary year of the 1916 Easter rising. Throughout the year there will be celebrations to mark this occasion and all major towns and cities will be putting on one hell of parade showcasing our heritage. They’ll be doing this through exhibitions, re-enactments with actors on the streets and during the parades, sport and of course through our rich history in the arts.
Expect to hear the constant hum of the bodhrán, guitars, mandolins, violins and tin whistles over the day and into the weekend which will be echoed by some fantastic ballads from the countries best singers. I’m all ready stomping my foot, clapping my hands and looking for someone in the office to link arms with me.
One thing I know I’m looking forward to is all the foodie festivals that will be dotted around the country. I do love my food and the gastro delights of some of the best Irish chefs and bakers is an opportunity that I’m not going to miss. If you enjoy some rich and gorgeous cheese with your wine make sure to pop down. Of course I will be taking in a few craft beer gatherings, as Ireland is home to some of the best micro breweries.
The hen party theme is a given with a St Patrick’s day hen party. Green, green and more green. You really can’t have enough green. This is probably one of the very few times that you’ll dress up in a ridiculous fashion for a hen party and probably still feel under dressed as some people really go all out for there St Patrick’s day outfit.
Wherever you decide to have your St Patrick’s day hen party you’ll be going to a town or city that is making an even bigger effort for the year that’s in it. Wherever you go the streets, restaurants, pubs and clubs will be buzzing with an electric atmosphere. You’ll be getting so much more out of your trip and you’re guaranteed one hell of a night!
